Still searching for their first win, the San Antonio Stars take on the Seattle Storm. The Stars (0-10) have been coming close to securing wins, but have not been able to close the job. The Storm (5-5) have struggled as of late, losing their last three games. These teams played on June 6, with Seattle coming away with an 85-76 victory. Here are three things to watch.

Will Kelsey Plum have a breakout game?

Plum attended the University of Washington, and will have many supporters in the crowd. Despite being the No. 1 pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft, her season has gotten off to a rocky start. In the seven games she’s appeared in, she’s averaging 3.6 points and 1.7 assists in 14.2 minutes per game.

Head coach Vickie Johnson has attributed her lack of playing time to the process rookies go through while adjusting to the league.

Now, playing in a more familiar setting, perhaps Plum will have more confidence. After all, she is due for a breakout game eventually.

Can Moriah Jefferson continue her impressive play?

In the Stars’ last game against the Los Angeles Sparks, Jefferson scored 24 points and dished out three assists.

In the last meeting vs. Seattle, she led a fourth quarter surge, where the Stars outscored the Storm 27-19. She finished the game with 10 points and five assists.

If she can continue scoring efficiently, it will be a huge boost to the offense.

Can the Stars post players contain Breanna Stewart and Crystal Langhorne?

In the June 6 meeting Stewart posted 22 points and eight rebounds, while Langhorne scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. The pair were pretty much unstoppable down low, and seemingly scored at will.

This time, San Antonio will have to prevent the two from scoring so easily by preventing them from establishing great position early on. The post players for the Stars will have to do their work early to contain Stewart and Langhorne from putting up similar efforts.
