The San Antonio Stars have signed center Briana Day to a training camp contact, the team announced on Monday afternoon.
Day is a 6-4 center that averaged 9.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.75 blocks in 22.8 minutes during four seasons with the Syracuse Orange. In her final season, she was named to the 2017 ACC All-Defensive Team.
In her four seasons with Syracuse as the all-time leading rebounder with 1,124 and led her team in offensive rebounding.
The addition of Day brings the Stars training camp roster to four centers, a need that San Antonio has been lacking since the retirement of Sophia Young-Malcolm.
The Stars will open the 2017, their 15th season in San Antonio, on May 13 against the New York Liberty at 2 p.m. before returning to the AT&T Center to host the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. for their home opener.
