Kelsey Plum inks deal with Nike


San Antonio Stars guard Kelsey Plum has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike, both Plum and the company announced on Friday.

Plum was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft and broke the NCAA women’s record for career points in a season in her career at the University of Washington. She was named the 2017 AP Women’s Basketball Player of the Year and won every major award as the nation’s all-time leader in career points and points in a season.

“Nike is the undisputed leader in basketball and it’s a dream come true to become an official member of the family,” said Plum in a press release. “The brand’s bold vision for future innovation and commitment to making athletes better made the choice clear.”

Plum will make her San Antonio debut tomorrow night when the Stars face the Dallas Wings in a preseason contest at the AT&T Center at 1 p.m.

 The Stars will tip off the 2016-17 regular season on May 13 against the New York Liberty at 2 p.m. inside Madison Square Garden.
