Stars acquire Isabelle Harrison in trade with Phoenix

The San Antonio Stars have traded point guard Danielle Robinson to the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for center Isabelle Harrison and the No. 5 pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft, the team announced on Tuesday morning.

Harrison is a 6-3 center and was selected with the 12th pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft by Phoenix.  She averaged 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game in her rookie season with the Mercury.

“We are grateful for all the contributions Danielle Robinson has made on the court and in the community here in San Antonio, and we wish her the best in Phoenix,” said Stars General Manager Ruth Riley in a statement via a press release. “The Stars welcome Isabelle Harrison to San Antonio and believe she will be a great, youthful addition to our post rotation.”

The trade means the Stars will now own the No. 1 and No. 5 overall picks in the 2017 WNBA Draft in April.

The Stars will open the 2017 season on May 13 against the New York Liberty and will host the Mercury in their home opener on May 19 at the AT&T Center.
