Preview: Stars take on Storm in Seattle
The San Antonio Stars and Seattle Storm own two of the leagues worst records, but both are still in reach of a playoff berth. Both teams will square off in a key meeting this evening at KeyArena as the silver and black are in search of their first road win.
San Antonio (7-17) is coming off a 83-76 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday. A poor second half doomed the Stars, who gave up an 11 point halftime lead. Jia Perkins continued her hot streak with 15 points in the loss and Kayla McBride added 24. The Stars sit just a half game behind the Los Angeles Sparks, who they will play next Sunday in San Antonio.
Seattle (6-19) enters two games behind Los Angeles and are 1-7 in their last eight games. The Storm fell 94-84 to Chicago on Friday, Markeisha Gatling finished with a career high 16 points in 12 minutes.
Overall, San Antonio is 27-30 all-time against Seattle, including a road record of 10-19. They most recently won 88-81 on August 8 as Jia Perkins scored a season-high 32 points in the victory.
