Stars close out regular season in Chicago
Becky Hammon says the San Antonio Stars are peaking at the right time. After the team’s 92-76 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Friday night, the silver and black clinched the fourth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference.
San Antonio (15-18) can clinch third place in the Western Conference with a win against the Chicago Sky today. The win would mean the Stars own the same record as the Los Angeles Sparks, but would go to third due to holding the tiebreaker.
Chicago (15-18) have already clinched a playoff berth, but will need help if they want to clinch the third seed in the Eastern Conference. The Sky will need a win and Indiana loss, which would put them in a tie with Washington but Chicago would own the tiebreaker based on a better conference record.
San Antonio won the only other game against Chicago earlier this season, 92-74 at the AT&T Center. But the Sky were without Elena Delle Donne who sat out with an illness.
The Stars and Sky are set to tip things off at 5 p.m. inside Allstate Arena. The game can be seen on WNBA LiveAccess.
