The San Antonio Stars enter Friday’s game against the Minnesota Lynx looking to finally get a win over the defending champions. That won’t be easy with Maya Moore having the best season of her career.
Moore scored 48 points as Minnesota (18-6) earned a 112-108 double-overtime win over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, the Lynx fifth straight and seventh in eight games.
Minnesota has won seven straight over San Antonio, including all three matchups this season.
The Stars (12-12) are coming off a thrilling win over the Tulsa Shock where Danielle Robinson scored 21 points, including the game-winning layup with 3.5 seconds remaining.
San Antonio guard Becky Hammon announced Wednesday she will retire after the season ends.
The team also signed their 2014 draft pick Astou Ndour and released guard Heather Butler from her seven day contract. She will be in uniform and available when the Stars take the court tonight.
The silver and black have not won in Target Center since 2012.
The Stars and Lynx are set to tip-off at 7 p.m. inside Target Center. The game will be televised locally on Fox Sports Southwest. Be sure to check back following the game for Stephen Anderson’s post-game report.
